Wellspring Care Portal exists to empower individuals and families to navigate the healthcare system with confidence, clarity, and dignity. We are working toward a future where healthcare navigation is intuitive, equitable, and accessible to all.
Our Story
Wellspring Care Portal was founded in 2008 by a group of healthcare professionals, patient advocates, and community organizers in Greenfield, Illinois, who recognized a critical gap in the healthcare experience: patients often had access to medical services but lacked the knowledge, tools, and support to navigate the system effectively. Too many people were missing preventive screenings, struggling to understand insurance documents, arriving at appointments unprepared, or delaying care because they did not know where to start.
What began as a small community health education program operating out of a single clinic has grown into a comprehensive care navigation platform serving the greater Greenfield metropolitan area. Today, Wellspring Care Portal connects patients with 48 providers across 12 locations, offers over 250 educational health articles, and provides interactive tools for appointment preparation, insurance education, and care urgency assessment.
Throughout our growth, we have remained committed to our founding principles: patient-centered care, health equity, cultural competence, transparency, and community partnership. We are proud to serve a diverse community and to offer our services in more than 15 languages through our language access program.
